Ian served an electrical apprenticeship within the process industry between 1985 and 1989 where he learned about and worked on heavy power electrical and mechanical equipment as well as learning about process control.

Ian then moved into Building Services where he first encountered BMS. This encounter led Ian to pursuing a career in the BMS industry when he joined Sauter Automation as a trainee BMS Commissioning Engineer. Finding a passion for BMS, Ian then began to pursue a career that allowed him to progress through many functions of operation and management that ultimately led to him starting his own business to deliver BMS and Building Systems enhancement and optimisation to help the drive for Net Zero.

Ian has a passion for “Lifelong Learning” and “Continuous Development and Improvement”. One of his main passions now is to help develop people within our industry and to make the world of BeMS more attractive to talented people who are looking to make their mark and leave a legacy for the future.
