Lizzy Bailey Celebrates Her First Year at Sontay!

Lizzy Bailey joined our team as a Marketing Executive in 2022. Her role involves creating marketing collateral, building website content, and the management and administration of Sontay Academy courses. Now, a year on we catch up with Lizzy to find out how she has found her first year and her plans for the future and beyond.
 
Lizzy has had a successful and rewarding first year at Sontay that she feels has gone by at the speed of lightning! She said: “The year has gone so quickly, but it's been so much fun. One of the reasons why I joined Sontay was because I got a really good feeling from the team. I was proven right as I have been able to fit in easily, and my colleagues have been extremely supportive, we all work very well together."
 
In her first year, Lizzy has accomplished a lot and has spent time getting to know the company, its products and its customers. The role is extremely varied, which was one aspect that initially attracted Lizzy to the role. She said: “I love the fact there is always an abundance of smaller tasks to do in between bigger projects, this allows me lots of variety every day. Another part I enjoy is managing the Sontay Academy courses because it allows me to see how much of a positive impact they have on people."
 
Lizzy has hit the ground running and is thoroughly enjoying her time at Sontay but some moments have stood out for her. She said: “One highlight of my role so far has been the launch of SORA (Sontay Open Range Application). It was great seeing all that hard work result in a successful launch. But my real Sontay moment was the success of the Smart Building Show. I got to meet lots of our customers, and for my first-ever show with Sontay it was incredibly successful.” 
 
But with any great role comes a set of challenges. “This is my first time working in the construction industry” Lizzy said, “and there is a lot more to it than I initially thought. My biggest learning curve this year has been fully getting to grips with the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry, but now I understand it I see just how important it is.” Lizzy is always looking to develop and has set learning as a focus for her next year as she seeks to gain a deeper understanding of the industry. 
 
With the end of her first year at Sontay comes another exciting year planned ahead. She said: “This year I’m looking forward to our French website reaching the end of its development. We’ve also seen a higher number of students on our academy courses, so I’m really excited to watch that grow and be there with the students celebrating their successes upon completing the course.”
