Positive news at Sontay during a period of uncertainty for everyone
News
I am finding that time is running away this year and although the Sontay support team are still mainly working from home, the hours, days and weeks since lockdown are quickly fading into a blur. The team are keeping up the momentum required and doing an excellent job of operating the business from their home desks, be it in the kitchen, dining room or even bedroom.
July has been our biggest sales month since the pandemic really hit home in March, and we want to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for choosing us to fulfil their sensing needs. Nobody can tell what the future holds, especially at the moment, but what we can be sure of is that the team will continue to serve our customers to the best of their ability with the relationships that we have built before and since the pandemic being the cornerstone of what we do.
Of course, our products play an essential part too in providing accurate and reliable devices. The team in the factory have excelled this month in being able to keep up excellent supply levels whilst working in the most unusual environment, due to the special measures we have put in place to keep them as safe as we can. Many of them are getting pretty used to the different way of working now, so it is definitely becoming the “new normal”. We’re happy to say that even with this new way of working, our customers will be given the same level of service that they have come to expect of Sontay.
I’m sure at the end of this we will all have our own story to tell! Mine will be heavily based on the trials and tribulations of working from home with my 3-year-old son, who for anyone who has been on a video call or meeting with me will have witnessed some form of chaos in the background at some point. A highlight has to be when he tried to chop my head off with a plastic sword in the BCIA Training Partners Meeting and then got the sword stuck in my hair! The fun never stops at my house and is mainly at the cost of my patience and embarrassment. But somehow like many others out there, we plough on! My childminder is coming back to work soon so the countdown clock is ticking away. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of some of my legendary comedic meetings for their understanding and empathy throughout. I couldn’t have got through these past months without it.
I feel this month that we all really need to take a step back and look at how far we have come in recent months. Not only have we made the best of a really difficult time, but have excelled and exceeded any expectations we may have had only a couple of months ago. We’re all in this together so thank you to all of our customers, suppliers and partners for sticking with us. We have achieved this together and have hope for only brighter things to come.
