Sontay creates new Low Smoke Zero Halogen Cable Sensors
News
Sontay has launched its new Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable option to give consultants greater design flexibility when specifying solutions that hit the mark on safety and performance.
Changes to building regulations post-Grenfell has resulted in the demand for products which assure a building’s efficiency and safety during its lifecycle. As a supplier of smart sensors with its fingers on the pulse, Sontay is the first of its kind to offer a LSZH cable sensor option, a solution that is seeing a surge in demand from specifiers across the UK. LSZH, also known as Low Smoke Halogen Free, cables are comprised of halogen-free compounds that emit less than 0.5% hydrogen chloride gas and smoke when burnt, making it a notable alternative to PVC on the market.
The LSZH cable sensor is compatible with Sontay’s standard catalogue range, which includes flying lead temperature sensors, thimble temperature sensors and low-profile temperature sensors. When making an order, purchasers simply add the suffix ‘LSZH’ to their partcode.
Speaking of this new offering, Stacey Lucas Commercial and Marketing Director at Sontay said: “We are a forward-thinking, people-orientated business and are continually receptive to the industry’s changes. We are the first company I know of to have created a cable sensor such as this and expect it will become a popular choice in the nearby future. We really want to be part of the change we want to see. At Sontay, we believe in doing the right thing and creating sensors that can have a positive impact on health & safety is an easy choice for us to make.”
